Three months into her pregnancy with twin dragon children, Seraphina finally saw her fiancé Miles for who he truly was—while his mother pressured her to abort the babies, he rushed off to attend to another female dragon, Peggy. She decisively broke off the engagement and, with her Aunt Victoria's help, fled to Mistwood in the Westlands. Peggy and Miles's mother had long conspired to steal the trust property that should have been Seraphina's. Seraphina gave birth to twin daughters, Audrey and Hazel, who took her surname Quinn. Miles later realized his mistakes and pursued her to Mistwood to beg forgiveness, but she no longer needed his apologies. She began a new life and formed a natural friendship with her neighbor Owen, finally living as a whole and free woman.
