Princess Genevieve is drugged and betrayed by her fiancé Lord Sterling on their wedding eve. He forges her abdication and sells her to privateer Captain Blackwood. Rescued by Captain Maeve Vance, Genevieve adapts to pirate life and the two fall into a forbidden romance. When their enemies corner them, Maeve is gravely wounded. Desperate, Genevieve makes a soul contract with sea witch Ursula—gaining storm and siren powers at the cost of her humanity. Growing colder, she builds the Pirate Coalition with Maeve, but the dark pact erodes her soul. With Lady Catherine's help, they expose Sterling's crimes and defeat him and Blackwood. As Genevieve freezes into salt, Maeve's true love kiss breaks the curse. They found a dual-queen empire spanning land and sea.
